Welcome to our Web Site

The Fellowship of St. Silas is a pan-Orthodox Christian prison ministry whose goal is to work in a unified way on behalf of those who are behind prison walls. The many prisoners to whom we minister across the country simply desire to pray, repent and be nurtured in their faith.

Christ is Risen!

"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power, For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his Feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."  (I Corinthians 15:20-26)

Christ is risen. . .He is risen indeed!

resurrection Moses in the Old Testament was the prophet of hope. His message was very simple; "Let my people go!" Moses beheld a better destiny for the house of Israel. Freedom from slavery could be achieved through one simple direction. . .That is; follow me.

St. Paul is the new Moses of the New Testament. Paul, a polished student of Greek and Hebrew life was an unlikely choice for the followers of the "Way". God has the power to choose the most un-likely of those who follow Him. A recent letter makes this truth real to me.

"Dear Fr. David,. . . . .I have lived a life of sin and rebellion towards God. Your recent letter to me helped me realize I have been fighting against our Father in heaven. Prison is hell, but my worst hell is feeling cut off from our Heavenly Father in heaven. Thank you for the Bible and Icon prayer cards. By God’s grace I will live to experience the resurrection from the dead.  In His love. . . Tony"

May the beauty of heaven consume you. . .Fr. David
