Father's Messages -
December 2007
We greet you in the holy name of Christ!
All of us are touched by the sadness and pain due to "sin".
"What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed?
For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin,
and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end,
everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:21-23)
The ministry reaches out to those who are aware that they are sin-sick. We do not go to a
physician unless we realize we are ill. The world which we live in cannot heal the malady
of sin. Sin is the wall that separates us from the healing touch of our great physician ...
Chris our Savior. The birth of our Savior opens the door to the true doctor of our souls ...
Jesus Christ! As the angelic hymn states so beautifully:
"Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name
Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will
give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of
His kingdom there will be no end." (Luke 1:30-33)
During these many years of ministry to those in prison, our vision has not changed. Our vision
is to continue to share the angelic anthem that our lives have hope and meaning no matter
what the outward circumstances may be. As we all chant together during the Vespers:
"Bring my soul out of prison, that I may confess thy name."
We do not have a mega-ministry to those in prison. Our ministry is simply one on one. Our goal is to be
a light of compassion and love to those who seek the healing love of Christ our Savior.
We thank you for our prayers and support as we bring the joy of the triumphant birth of the
Son of God to the many seekers of new life in Christ!
In His love,
Fr. David
