Prisoners respond to the Christmas cards...

"And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
Greetings in the Lord!
As you may know, over this past Christmas season the Fellowship of St. Silas sent out Christmas cards made by children to our prisoners. We wanted to share with you some of the letters we received in response to the Christmas cards, which we wouldn't have been able to send without your support.
John was having a case of the "holiday blues" until he received his Christmas card. He writes:
"I was starting to be really down due to my family forgetting me again this year, then I got your envelope, and inside there was a homemade card made by some child named Jody. You find that child and tell her she made my whole day as Christ touched me through her card. Thanks! I've not seen anyone from the Church in over two years now and have been feeling a little forgotten. It was nice to be reminded by God I had not been forgotten."
Even little acts of kindness such as this mean so much to prisoners. Another prisoner, Anthony, writes:
"Dear Isabella,
Christ is Born! Glorify Him! Thank you very much for the Christmas gift! :) That was very thoughtful of you to send me a gift. I like the yellow bow you put on the package. It reminded me of an angel. The color purple of the gift itself reminds me of the best gift of all at Christmas time, and that is Jesus. The purple color would be the color of the robe of the Royal Priesthood that Jesus wears! :) I am very thankful for the love you have shown towards this prisoner in the form of the big heart under your name. You have brought much happiness to me as we celebrate the holiday season. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too, and that you received some nice gifts, enjoyed some Christmas cookies and goodies, and were able to get into the Christmas spirit with all of the decorations (I used to like decorating the tree). Thank you again for remembering me.
Love in Christ,
Anthony"
Your donations and prayers really are making a difference in the lives of prisoners. May God bless you all abundantly!
